Journal photo by Ted Richardson: 10/2/2003 Tommy Newman, a fisherman from Swan Quarter, kicks shut the door of a garbage bin he was using Thursday night to burn marsh grass, corn stalks and tree limbs that washed onto his property during Hurricane Isabel. 'It's the worst flood I've seen in my lifetime,' said Newman, 59, a life resident of Hyde County. 'It's gonna take a long, long time to burn all we got to burn,' he said.
